KTC's Corporate Ethics

"Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."
- World Commission, 1987

Kayak Tillamook County (KTC) rejects the notion that the relationship between jobs and the environment is inherently antagonistic. We believe that economic growth can equally respect both and that this gridlock must be transformed in order for us to find truly creative solutions that respect and protect local communities, jobs, eco-systems, and the living creatures within them.

Just as you may visit Tillamook County to experience its beauty, we are all just visitors to this planet we live upon. During our short time here we have choices, many of which will affect this place long after we depart. The best choices reflect the fact that we come from the earth and return to it; therefore, what we do to the earth we do to ourselves.

We ask that every person deeply reconsider their paths in life, re-examine their role in what is happening to our planet and seek personal solutions which are accessible and meaningful to their own lives. In the end, we are not actually CEOs, workers, students or government officials, but instead just one of many creatures inhabiting the earth.

This is why we are committed to a code of Eco-Ethics in our pursuit of profit with the planet, not from the planet.
